Irelands turbulent history is now at a turning point, what with the signing of The Good Friday Agreement, a fragile agreement, but one, that I hope holds out. Whatever the outcome, it Is no longer the physical presence of a border between the Republic and Ulster, which dominates the present situation, nor religion, which causes the greatest divide. It is, perhaps, the "siege mentality" which has developed in both Catholic and Protestant minds that affects the decision-making, and will be the hardest problem to solve.
